The Guvai Report

Samuel Guvai our network's Africa Desk Program Director and Reporter. He is stationed in Kenya East Africa). Samuel will be reporting on both pressing and exciting issues facing individuals, communities, and nations within Africa as a whole and East Africa in particular.

Drawing on his background as an anchorman at one of Uganda's news networks, Samuel will bring up-front and up-close interviews with politicians, business owners, educators, health care workers, and ordinary citizens in Kenya and its surrounding countries. His expanded reports will include nations outside East Africa and address politics, economic and social development, education, and peace initiatives.

With elections upcoming in Kenya, Samuel will be interviewing those most affected by policies of a country's leaders -- the citizens. Looking at their platforms and promises, he will also speak with politicians in Kenya right up to election day.

His special report "Live from Kibera" will be taking a close look at life and the living standards of those residing in this largest slum in Africa.

Samuel is committed to speaking with NGO directors to see their challenges and accomplishments as well as looking at various empowerment programs that claim to prepare and promote women for new leadership roles in Kenya and beyond.

Education (schools), health care (and their related facilities), and access to clean water remain huge challenges for the poor and rural area residents. Samuel's experience will allow you a fresh and clear image of these issues and more.
